About

About Us

Amber Schools Foundation Inc. is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making the impossible possible in education. Founded to bolster Amber Charter Schools, today we leverage our expertise, passion, and resources to uplift all underserved students and communities—providing the tools, opportunities, and support every child needs to thrive. We also partner with and fund other schools and nonprofit organizations in need, extending our impact far beyond our original network.

Our Mission

We exist to advance educational equity and community well-being by:

Funding & Expertise

Delivering strategic grants, classroom resources, and best-practice guidance to schools, nonprofits, and community programs serving low-income, immigrant, and underrepresented families.

Student & Family Support

Partnering on initiatives that nourish young minds and bodies—from healthy meals and mental-health services to after-school enrichment.

Teacher Empowerment

Investing in professional development, innovative classroom tools, and peer networks that help educators excel in any setting.

Community Engagement

Bringing families, mentors, and neighborhood partners together through events, outreach, and shared-learning initiatives.

What We Do

School & Nonprofit Grants

We award competitive grants to Amber Charter Schools and peer institutions—plus other local nonprofits—to fund STEM kits, art supplies, literacy programs, and technology upgrades.

Scholarship & Enrichment Funds

Through our scholarship programs and summer camps, we ensure high-potential students have access to college prep, cultural experiences, and leadership development.

Wellness & Nutrition

By funding breakfast and lunch programs, health screenings, and counseling services, we help students arrive ready to learn.

Crisis Relief

When natural disasters, budget cuts, or emergencies strike, our emergency support fund delivers rapid-response aid to keep schools, families, and partner nonprofits afloat.

Community & Family Engagement

Community Days at Local Playgrounds

Every year, we organize Community Days at local playgrounds that bring families together through free sports, arts activities, health clinics, and nutrition workshops. These events are designed to promote healthy living and creativity while strengthening neighborhood bonds. They provide an opportunity for children and adults alike to participate in fun, educational, and wellness-oriented activities in a welcoming environment.

Family Learning Nights

Our Family Learning Nights invite parents and children to engage in hands-on STEM projects, literacy activities, and wellness resources together. These evenings foster a collaborative learning environment where families can strengthen their skills and knowledge in science, technology, engineering, math, and health. The events are designed to empower parents to actively support their children’s education and well-being.

Mentor Match Programs

We connect students with caring mentors who provide academic support and career guidance, helping youth build confidence and plan their futures.
